Homemade Egg Rolls Recipe

Crunchy on the outside and bursting with a savory mix of veggies and protein inside, these homemade egg rolls are an irresistible appetizer or snack anytime!

Yields: About 12 egg rolls

Ingredients

Filling:

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)

  • 1 cup shredded carrots

  • ½ cup bean sprouts (optional)

  • ½ cup diced mushrooms

  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • ½ lb ground pork, chicken, or shrimp (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

For Wrapping & Frying:

  • 12 egg roll wrappers (or spring roll wrappers)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (to seal)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
