2. Shape the Dumplings

  1. Lightly flour a work surface.

  2. Roll dough to about ⅛-inch thick.

  3. Slice into strips, then cut into small squares.

Drop Dumplings

  • Skip rolling.

  • Simply pinch off small pieces of dough and shape them loosely by hand for a rustic look.

3. Cook the Dumplings

  • Bring your soup, stew, or fruit filling to a gentle boil.

  • Add a few dumplings at a time to prevent sticking. Cover and cook without stirring for several minutes.

  • Continue adding in batches.
