Recipe Tin Project: Heavenly Squares

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven & Prepare Base:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, beat ½ cup butter and ½ cup granulated sugar with an electric mixer until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until fully combined. Stir in the graham cracker crumbs, coconut, and walnuts.

2. Bake the Base Layer:
Press the mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking pan. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden and set. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

3. Make the Frosting:
While the base cools, beat ½ cup butter in a separate bowl until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, then the milk, and continue beating for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy. Spread evenly over the cooled bars.

4. Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons butter in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.

5. Assemble & Serve:
Pour and smooth the melted chocolate over the frosting layer. Let it set completely before cutting into squares. Enjoy!
