Prepare the brownie batter following the directions on the box. Pour the batter into a greased 12×9-inch baking pan.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the brownies for 20-25 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center—it should come out with moist crumbs.

Remove brownies from the oven and cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, slice into ¾-inch thick pieces. Halve the miniature Reese’s peanut butter cups to use later as a garnish and set aside.
Step 4:
In a large bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in 1½ cups of the whipped topping.
Step 5:
In a 5-quart glass dish, layer one-third of the brownies, followed by half of the halved peanut butter cups, and one-third of the peanut butter pudding mixture.
Step 6:
Repeat the layering process two more times, ending with the remaining whipped topping spread on top. Garnish with the leftover peanut butter cups.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least a few minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.
