Russian Tea Balls

 

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.

  3. Mix Together: Gradually add the flour mixture into the butter mixture, stirring well after each addition.

  4. Add Nuts: Fold in the chopped walnuts evenly throughout the dough.

  5. Shape Cookies: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them about 1 ½ inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

  6. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (163°C) for about 20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  7. Cool and Coat: Let the cookies cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, roll each cookie generously in powdered sugar to coat.
