Baked Custard Pudding

  1. Prepare the Water Bath
Place the custard-filled dish inside the larger pan. Pour hot water into the outer pan until it reaches halfway up the sides of the custard dish. This helps the custard cook evenly and prevents cracking.

  2. Bake
Bake for 45–60 minutes, or until the custard is set. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean. The top should be lightly golden.

  3. Cool and Chill
Remove from the water bath and let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, though it can also be enjoyed warm.

  4. Serve
Scoop into bowls or cut into squares. Optionally, garnish with extra nutmeg or cinnamon.
