How to Make Grandma’s Christmas Candy

  1. Prepare the pan:
Line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper. Lightly grease the paper and set the dish aside.

  2. Melt the base mixture:
Place the butter, white chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows into a large microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 1 minute.
Stir with a greased spatula, then continue microwaving in 30-second bursts—stirring each time—until everything is completely melted and smooth.

  3. Add the candies:
Allow the mixture to cool for about a minute, then fold in the chopped gumdrops.

  4. Press into the pan:
Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use the spatula to press it down into an even layer.

  5. Chill:
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or leave it overnight for easiest slicing.

  6. Cut and store:
Lift the slab out of the pan using the parchment paper. Peel the paper away and cut into bite-sized pieces.
Store the candy in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
