Classic Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Sprinkle brown sugar over the butter.

Arrange banana slices on top. Add cherries if using.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring until the ingredients are well-blended.

Beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy.

Incorporate the eggs into the mixture one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

Alternately add flour mixture and milk, mixing until smooth.

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Gently run a knife around the edges, then invert onto a plate.
