An Old Woman and Her Unfortunate Thief
As the sun began to set, an elderly woman took her usual evening stroll through the park, her small dog trotting happily beside her. She cherished this time of day, enjoying the peaceful quiet of the park as the light faded. Her dog, a scruffy little terrier, sniffed curiously at everything, oblivious to the world around him.
As the two made their way along the path, a young man appeared out of nowhere. His eyes quickly scanned the park before locking onto the old woman. With swift, practiced movements, he snatched the purse that hung loosely over her shoulder and bolted, disappearing into the shadows of the trees.
Shocked but not shaken, the old lady stood still for a moment, processing what had just happened. Before she could react, a young couple who had witnessed the whole event hurried across the street toward her. Breathless and concerned, they asked if she was okay. “We just called the police,” the husband said. “They’ll be here any minute.”
But to their surprise, the old woman simply smiled. “Oh, don’t worry,” she chuckled softly, as if the incident didn’t bother her at all. “You see, I have a little habit when I walk my dog. I always carry an old purse with me for picking up after him. The one that young man just ran off with? Well, let’s just say it wasn’t full of anything valuable. Unless, of course, he has a use for a bag full of dog poop!”
The couple looked at her, stunned at the unexpected twist. The elderly woman’s smile only widened as she imagined the thief’s face when he opened the bag, thinking he had scored an easy target.
“Can you picture it?” she continued with a twinkle in her eye. “Him rushing into a corner, eager to check what he’d stolen, only to find he’s made off with my dog’s waste!” She shook her head, clearly entertained by the thought.
