Amish Baked Vanilla Custard
Vanilla stands as my preferred flavor, and given the choice between vanilla and chocolate (though I hope such a dilemma never arises), I would invariably choose vanilla. Another aspect I adore is the simplicity of Amish custard and custard recipes with minimal ingredients and preparation. The Amish Vanilla Custard Recipe embodies all of these qualities! This velvety four-ingredient custard is crafted with a can of sweetened condensed milk, water, eggs, vanilla, and a pinch of salt – that’s all it takes. After baking for approximately an hour and 40 minutes (as oven times may vary, begin checking after an hour and a half), the custard is adorned with a sprinkle of ground nutmeg or ground cinnamon, or a delightful combination of both. This creamy Amish custard can be served at room temperature or chilled; however, my preference leans towards the latter.
This time-tested custard recipe has endured through the ages. Present it as dessert, and observe the sparkle in everyone’s eyes as they eagerly request more!
