These were something my mom prepared for my kids while she was down here babysitting, and they enjoyed them. Typical Grandma that she is, she baked a huge batch and froze them so we could easily defrost and reheat a few whenever they want. But don’t worry, even older kids love these…

HERE IS WHAT YOU’LL NEED IN ORDER TO MAKE THE BEST BACON-WRAPPED SMOKIES IN THE WORLD!!!!

Bacon; I used 1 pound.

A 14-ounces package.Of mini Smokies.

1/2 Cup.Of unsalted butter.

Brown sugar; you’ll need 2 cups.

PREPARATION:

1st Step

To get started, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit before turning it on.

2nd Step

Then place one slice of bacon on top of each of the mini smokies and roll them up.

3rd Step

In a baking dish, arrange the smokies that have been wrapped in bacon in a single layer.

4th Step

It is preferable to put them with the seam side of the bacon down so that the bacon will remain attached to the sausages while they are cooking. You may also use a toothpick to hold the bacon in place and prevent it from falling off.

5th Step

In a saucepan placed over medium heat, you should melt the butter. Take the butter off the heat, then put in half of the brown sugar and combine the two ingredients well.

6th Step

After drizzling the brown sugar and butter glaze on top of the smokies, sprinkle more brown sugar on top of the smokies.

7th Step

Put in the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees F.

8th Step

After that, raise the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and continue baking for another 15 to 25 minutes, until the bacon has reached the desired level of crispiness.
