Budget-Friendly Roast Beef

 

Ingredients:

3-pound beef eye of round roast.

1 teaspoon garlic powder.

1 teaspoon onion powder.

Salt and pepper, to taste.

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).

Step 2

Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

Step 3

Place the seasoned roast in a roasting pan or baking dish. Avoid covering it or adding water.

Step 4

Put the roast in the preheated oven and immediately reduce the temperature to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C).

Step 5

Roast the beef for 21 minutes, calculating approximately seven minutes per pound.

Step 6

After the cooking time, turn off the oven and resist the temptation to open the door.

Step 7

Let the roast rest in the hot oven for 2 1/2 hours undisturbed.

Step 8

Carefully remove the roast from the oven. Check that the internal temperature has reached at least 145 degrees F (65 degrees C) using a meat thermometer.

Step 9
