How to Make Butter Swim Biscuits
-
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
-
Pour in the buttermilk and stir just until a soft, moist dough forms. Do not overmix.
-
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour it into an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish, making sure the pan is deep enough to hold all that buttery goodness.
-
Spoon the dough directly on top of the melted butter. Using a spatula, gently spread the dough evenly to the edges of the pan.
-
With a knife, cut the unbaked dough (now happily swimming in butter) into 9 roughly equal squares.
-
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is beautifully golden brown.
