Christmas Eggnog Bread

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

Step 2

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix the eggnog, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Step 4

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. If you’re using pecans, fold them in at this stage.

Step 5

Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Pro Tips:

Use Fresh Spices: For the best flavor, opt for freshly ground nutmeg and cinnamon rather than pre-ground spices.

Check Doneness: Since ovens can vary, start checking the bread at the 50-minute mark by inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, it’s done!

Add Flavor Variations: Experiment with adding a splash of rum or bourbon to the eggnog for an adult twist, or fold in some dried cranberries or chocolate chips for added texture.

Storage: Keep leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze slices individually and thaw as needed.
