1. Prepare the Steak:
In a shallow dish, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
Coat each steak first in the seasoned flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally dredge it again in the flour, pressing lightly to ensure it sticks.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the steaks for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until they’re golden brown and crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
2. Make the Cream Gravy:
Remove all but ¼ cup of the oil from the skillet. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly until the gravy thickens.
Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Let it simmer gently for 2–3 minutes.
3. Prepare the Creamy Mashed Potatoes:
Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water. Boil until tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain well.
Mash the potatoes with butter, warm milk or cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
4. Cook the Garlic Green Beans:
Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then drain.
In a pan, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the green beans, toss to coat, and season with salt and pepper.
To Serve
Place a crispy steak on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, generously ladle the cream gravy over the top, and serve with a side of garlic green beans. Enjoy your comforting, flavorful meal!
