Patty Melts with Homemade Secret Sauce

 

Instructions:

Prepare the Beef Patties:

Divide the ground beef into three portions and shape them into patties, roughly the same size as the bread slices.
Season both sides of the patties with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the patties until they are fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Secret Sauce:

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped bacon, ketchup, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and set aside.

Assemble the Patty Melts:

Wipe the skillet clean and reduce the heat to medium.
Brush each slice of bread with melted butter on one side.
Toast three slices of bread in the skillet, buttered side down, until golden brown.

Place two slices of provolone on each toasted bread slice, followed by a beef patty and two slices of cheddar cheese.

Brush a small amount of the secret sauce on the non-buttered side of the remaining bread slices.

Place the sauce-side down on top of the beef patty.

Once the bottom bread slice is toasted and the cheese is melted, flip the patty melt over and toast the other side until golden brown.

Serve:

Remove the patty melts from the skillet and let them cool slightly before serving.
