Ingredients:
For the Dumplings:
2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored.
2 cans.Of crescent roll dough; (8 pieces).
1 Cup.Of unsalted butter.
1 1/2 Cups.Of granulated sugar.
1 Tsp.Of ground cinnamon.
1 Tsp.Of vanilla extract.
1 1/2 Cups.Of lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7UP)
For Serving (Optional):
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Method:
1 – Set your oven’s temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Each peeled and cored apple should be cut into 8 wedges.
2 – Unroll and cut the crescent roll dough into triangles. And, beginning from the widest end, wrap each apple wedge in a crescent roll triangle.
3 – Place the wrapped apple dumplings in a 9×13-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.
4 – now, you need to melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the granulated sugar, cinnamon powder, and vanilla extract until completely incorporated.
5 – Spread the buttery sauce over the apple dumplings in the baking dish. Pour the lemon-lime soda over the sides of the baking dish gently. This will result in a bubbling effect when baking.
6 – In a preheated oven, bake the apple dumplings for 40-45 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
7 – Allow the apple dumplings to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
