INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED:
For the Salisbury Steak:
1 Lb.Of ground beef.
1/3 Cup.Of breadcrumbs.
1/4 Cup.Of finely chopped onion.
1/4 Cup.Of finely chopped parsley.
1 egg.
1 Tbsp.Of Worcestershire sauce.
Salt and pepper to taste.
For the Mushroom Gravy:
8-oz.Of mushrooms, sliced.
1/4 Cup.Of butter.
1/4 Cup.Of all-purpose flour.
2 Cups.Of beef broth.
1 Tsp.Of Worcestershire sauce.
Salt and pepper to taste.
For the Mashed Potatoes:
4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks.
1/2 Cup.Of butter.
1/2 Cup.Of milk.
Salt and pepper to taste.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1st Step
Combine the minced beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, chopped parsley, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large mixing basin. Mix until thoroughly combined. Form the mixture into approximately 1-inch thick ovoid patties.
2nd Step
Warm up a large skillet over medium heat. Add some butter or oil to prevent adhering. Cook the patties for approximately 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until they are thoroughly cooked and have formed a crust.
3rd Step
In the same pan used to cook the patties, add butter and allow it to soften. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook them until they are tender and browned. Take the mushrooms out of the pan and set them aside.
4th Step
Add flour to the same pan and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent clots. Whisk in the beef bouillon and Worcestershire sauce gradually.
5th Step
Continue whisking until the mixture becomes viscous and smooth. This will constitute the mushroom gravy. Return the mushrooms to the pan and combine them with the gravy. season to flavor with salt and pepper.
6th Step
Place the potato pieces in a large kettle filled with salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
