Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, grated onion, garlic powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into meatballs of approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons each.
Step 3
Brown the meatballs in olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once browned on all sides, transfer the meatballs to a plate and set aside.
Step 4
Cook the egg noodles in salted boiling water for two minutes less than the package directions.
Step 5
In the same skillet, add beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove the skillet from heat.
Step 6
Place the cooked noodles in the prepared baking dish, top with meatballs, and pour the sauce evenly over the pasta and meatballs. Sprinkle grated Swiss cheese on top.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Step 9
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and enjoy your Swedish Meatball Noodle Casserole!
