UPSIDE-DOWN APPLE CAKE

 

Ingredients

3 sliced apples

For the batter:

150g sugar

220g butter

340g honey

180ml buttermilk

3 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

300g flour

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

10g baking powder

For the caramel:

100g sugar

3 tablespoons water

Preparation

Create caramel by heating sugar and water in a pan over medium heat until it transforms into caramel. Coat the sliced apples with the prepared caramel.

In another pan, melt butter for 6 minutes over medium heat. Mix in honey, buttermilk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract.

Sift in flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and add salt. Pour this batter over the caramel-coated apples.

Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 1 hour. Allow it to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
